DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

The Boys and Girl from County Clare (TV 3, 11pm)

This Irish comedy is nothing if not enjoyable. A céilí band from Liverpool comes to Ireland to compete in a competition in Clare. The director’s brother is also set to enter his band, the rivalry gets fierce. Andrea Corr and Colm Meaney star.

Poldark (BBC 1, 9pm)

The new series begins tonight, and we’re all hoping that Aidan Turner keeps his shirt on because he is more than just a torso. He is also a very attractive head.

Dragon’s Den (BBC 2, 9pm)

The series returns so more entrepreneurs can share their ideas with the dragons in the hope of earning some investment. When will they invest in our idea of a Pringles container, like a lunchbox for Pringles but big enough to get your hand into it. You see?

Everyone’s talking about… the Irish X Factor auditions

The X Factor well and truly hates us, as evident during last night’s auditions in Dublin. But hey, there were a few saving factors. Have a look here.

This cat was flown from Australia to its owner in Ireland thanks to kind strangers

AN IRISH WOMAN has managed to get her cat flown from Australia to Dublin thanks to the kindness of strangers.

PastedImage-84037 Source: Facebook

Meet George, a ginger cat from Sydney. George’s owner Fiona had to fly back to Ireland earlier in the year due to poor health, leaving him with neighbours in Australia. Her health prevented her from going back to the country, and when her neighbours moved, George had to fend for himself.

He wandered 20km until he was picked up and tracked via a microchip, before he was left in a local vet.

Fiona couldn’t bear the thought of it, so her two friends Cait and Sara created a GoFundMe page in an attempt to get the €1,600 costs together to transport George home on the plane.

They were hit with a €2,000 medical bill from the vet, just as they were approaching their goal. But that didn’t deter them, and the donations kept rolling in.

The fund was set up in late July, and FINALLY George was returned yesterday after a long flight

The Trinity Orchestra took to the main stage to perform the late David Bowie’s greatest hits, and were joined by surprise guest Hozier for a spine-tingling rendition of Heroes.

Of course, the Trinity Orchestra is where Andrew Hozier-Byrne cut his teeth back in his student days.

People were EXCITED

It proved to be a big success, despite the rain and early stage time

The Cork City Samba Band led a brilliant singalong for the O'Donovan brothers

THE O’DONOVAN BROTHERS were truly the break out Irish stars of the Olympics.

PastedImage-52196 Source: Press Association

The two lads from Skibbereen in Cork returned to their home town on Monday to a hero’s welcome.

The Cork City Samba Band were on hand to keep the afterparty going, giving a brilliant rendition of ‘row row row your boat’ in honour of the silver medalists.

They changed the lyrics just a tad:

Row, row, row, your boat quickly down the stream. Close your eyes, pull like a dog, that’s the Olympic dream!

Yous are some craic Skibbereen!
