Greystones is getting an immense tree carving 'in honour of Apple's €13bn'

IRISH TREE CARVER John Hayes has a timely project on the go.

He’s tackling a 130 year old 30 foot tree in Greystones this week, turning the huge stump into the ‘Apple in the Hand’.

Hayes says the project is something of a tongue-in-cheek reference to this week’s big news about Apple’s tax bill.

His company Special Branch Carvings is also responsible for the ‘Holy Tree’ in Fenor in Waterford and the ‘Musical Hat’ in Dunmore East.
